[ He gently moves his hand from his face. ]

I missed it, too.

[ He sleeps much better with Dice beside him. It had been a lesson learned the very, very hard way. ]

[Ever so gently, he takes Gentaro's hand in his and moves it back to where it was on his cheek.]

[ He swallows hard, gently stroking his thumb over his cheek. ]

[ He doesn't want to stop touching him, now that the barrier between them has broken down completely. ]

[Dice didn't think he needed soothing, but he feels vaguely like he almost lost Gentaro.]

[ Gentaro recognizes it, too. Dice takes such good care of everyone else. Who takes care of him?

Gentaro's heart races. They're so close. It would be so easy to lean in and brush a kiss along his lips. Instead, he runs a hand through Dice's hair, marveling at how soft it is. ]

[But his head ducks down again and he closes his eyes at the attention, so... Not beating the cat allegations today.]

[ His heart's never going to recover. Gentaro shifts closer, craving warmth and touch. ]

[ He could spend all day just like this. It's like they're in their own little universe, away from everything that threatens them. ]

[But he's laughing faintly. The touch is so good, and he can always use more. With Gentaro sliding closer, it's easy for Dice to slide his hands around to Gentaro's lower back and rest his head on Gentaro's chest.]

[ He relaxes into him. Gentaro lets out a quiet, content sigh. With Dice's head on his chest, Gentaro's heartbeat quickens for a moment. The closeness makes him feel so vulnerable, but Dice makes him feel even safer. ]

[ He draws in a breath, but he doesn't stop Dice. Brushing the hair out of his eyes, he watches him. ]

Don't leave me in such suspense, now. Tell me.

With that hand still on Gentaro's back, Dice sleepily raises his head for a moment. He grins at him, fully comfortable and soothed by the touches, before pressing their foreheads together again. His unoccupied hand travels to Gentaro's chest, and he eases Gentaro back onto the couch so he can stretch out on top of him.]

How's that?

[ He lets out a quiet, surprised sound, but he doesn't kick up a fuss. It is much more comfortable like this. Dice's warmth covers him better than even the most exquisite blanket.

He slides his arms around him, palms resting against his upper back. ]

It's perfect.

Yeah. It's nice, right?

[He tucks his head beside Gentaro's, lips so close to his cheek that the temptation to just lean in is difficult to resist. But he resists. He wonders if it might console Gentaro if he did it, if he just showed affection for him as he is, here and now.

Thinking was never Dice's strong suit, so he closes his eyes and huffs a little sigh.]

[ Gentaro thinks more than enough for them. It's so close to impossible to ignore the urge to turn his head and brush their lips together. His fingers twitch around Dice's shirt as he lets out a soft, trembling sigh. ]

[ He wants to just go for it. Somehow, he can't, even though Dice knows the truth of who he is. ]

[He really can't help himself, but he's behaving. He wants to see Gentaro for who he is, without all these trappings of someone else. But that's a long-term goal if he's ever had one.]

[ How long has it truly been since he listened to his heart and really, truly, took something for himself? He's been so focused on being someone he's not for the sake of his plan. He's not a selfless person, far from it. But something so simple as the touch of someone he loves...

Gentaro draws in a shaking breath. Every part of him screams at him to drop it.

Instead, he leans in and presses the softest kiss to his lips. He pulls back quickly, because all his doubts are rearing up again. ]

[Dice is surprised, but only a little. Maybe because it feels so right, he doesn't question it for a moment.

He reaches up the second Gentaro pulls away and threads fingers into his hair, trying gently to ease him back in so Dice can return the gesture.]

[ It doesn't take much to draw him back in. Gentaro makes a soft, relieved sound into the kiss as he sinks his fingers into Dice's hair. His other hand rests against Dice's chest above his heart.

Slowly, he deepens the kiss, eyes sliding shut. Dice always keeps his promises: He's Gentaro's rock, and he makes him feel safe to try something he's been afraid to. ]

[Gentaro doesn't move away, and Dice makes a soft, surprised sound as he feels Gentaro practically melt beneath him. His fingers nestle gently in Gentaro's hair as he closes his own eyes tighter and focuses on the kiss. Maybe he's doing it right, maybe not, but does it matter?

Tipping his head slightly, Dice tries to take some control of the kiss. It feels good, and subconsciously he knows that he's showing Gentaro that he's wanted, just the way he is. Or however he is, was, or will be.]

[ To Gentaro, it's perfect in every way. Kissing Dice is even better than he'd imagined. Their lips fit together so well, even if Gentaro's kisses are a little clumsy. Holding tighter onto him, Gentaro knows much of what makes this so wonderful is that Dice accepts him as he is, who he is.

It won't wipe away his deep, deep self-loathing. But it's a start that Dice is taking control, showing him that he wants him. This much attention and care is so new that it scares him a little.

Dice is a balm to that. He parts his lips slightly, desperate for more. ]

[Dice makes a soft, warm sound against Gentaro's lips, ignoring everything but the way their lips connect, and the way Gentaro's hair feels beneath his fingers. There's a brief skip in the kiss, and Dice smiles.]
