[ It's a quiet evening, and Mira and Monika are enjoying each other's company. After everything, it's really nice to just... be. To relax and not have to worry so much. Mira knows peace isn't really something they've been given much, and even when it's a constant, steady thing, she can't help but feel like it's going to slip away.
When she looks at Monika, though, it's easier to believe that this is real, that it's going to stay like that. Monika's been an absolute blessing--warm, supportive, and most importantly, good to Mira. Sometimes, she still wakes up not believing that Monika's hers, and she's Monika's.
Her smile is a good reminder, though, and Mira knows she's in terribly deep when her heart actually races whenever Monika turns that smile on her. She wants Monika to feel just as loved as Mira does, and Mira never passes up an opportunity to let her know.
So, Monika, you want some hot chocolate? It's pretty fancy, and it looks and smells absolutely delectable. She sits down on the couch and passes a mug over to her, eyes bright. ]
[ It's been more than nice being with Mira. Really it's been wonderful. She was exactly the kind of partner she needed all alone. Monika had to work on herself, and that wasn't Mira's responsibility of course. But having her at her side really made all the difference. Now Monika feels like she's a genuinely supportive person and friend. And more so... she's trying to be the best girlfriend she can be.
When Mira reenters the room, Monika sets the book she's reading aside, giving her her full attention. ]
Ah, for me? Thank you so much Mira!
[ She grins up at her as she takes the mug into her hands. It's nice and warm, and she gladly wraps her hands around it. She can't help but admire the work that's gone into it while she blows on it gently. ]
This looks almost too good to drink! Ahaha... almost! [ Monika takes a sip, closing her eyes and letting out a content sigh. ] It's delicious Mira; thank you. It's a prefect night for some like this.
[ To the thank you, which warms her cheeks. It's nice, to be appreciated the way Monika does. It's something she'd never really thought she'd have from someone who... well, wasn't her brother. But Monika's been amazing. Wonderful and supportive, at her side through everything.
Hot cocoa's the least she could do for Monika, really. And she's right--it's the perfect night for it. ]
I thought you'd like it. [ She gently nudges her knee against Monika's. ] And I'm glad that I definitely wasn't wrong.
[ Monika laughs softly, lightly nudging her knee back. ]
Who wouldn't like something like this? But seriously... it's so fancy. Have you considered being a barista? I bet you'd be really good at it!
[ Her fingers twitch slightly as she debates internally, but ultimately she decides to take a chance. She lays a warmed hand on Mira's knee, ready to pull back if it's unwelcomed. ]
[ She definitely doesn't mind--rather, she feels her cheeks go a little warmer. She laughs and hides her face behind her mug for a moment, then peeks up over it at Monika. ]
Maybe... though, I think I'd be too tempted to drink too much coffee.
[ She laughs again, then puts her hand over Monika's and gives it a little squeeze. ]
So I'm fine with just being your personal barista.
